The route is as follows: Singapore -> Larkin Bus Terminal -> Bandar Penawar (via Kota Tinggi) -> Desaru Coast
Step 1: From Singapore to Larkin Bus Terminal
You’ll need to take the Causeway Link Bus which takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Step 2: From Larkin Bus Terminal to Bandar Penawar
Once you arrive at Larkin Bus Terminal, you’ll have to take Mara Liner which takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes and costs about S$3.16. The route will follow along the Senai-Desaru expressway.
Step 3: From Bandar Penawar to Desaru Coast
Once you’ve reached Bandar Penawar, you’ll need to take the minibus which takes around 15 minutes and costs about RM1.
In total, the entire journey will take about 3 hours and 15 minutes. If you have time to spare, it’ll be a great option for you.
4. Driving By Yourself From Singapore to Lotus Desaru

4.1 Route 1 (via Senai-Desaru Highway)
Take the SLE coming from Upper Thomson Rd. Then, take the BKE and Lebuhraya EDL/AH2/E14 heading towards JB East Coast Pkwy/Route 35. Exit 1403A-Bakar Batu.
Follow along Senai-Desaru Highway/E22 and continue along until you reach Bandar Penawar. Then, take Route 90 to reach Jalan Desaru.
Total Travelling Time: 1 hour 45 minutes
Total Distance: 87.4km
4.2 Route 2 (via Federal Route 3/AH18 & Senai-Desaru Highway)
Take the SLE coming from Upper Thomson Rd. Then, take AH2 heading towards Jalan Pandan/Laluan Persekutuan 3/Route 3/AH18. Exit 1404B-Pandan.
Then, head towards Senai-desaru Highway/E22. Take Route 90 to Jalan Desaru.
Total Travelling Time: 2 hours 15 minutes

4.3 Route 3 (via Federal Route 3/AH18 & Kota Tinggi-Pengerang/Route 92)
Drive along the Windsor Park Rd heading towards Upper Thomson Rd. Then, take the AH2, Federal Route 3/AH18 and Kota Tinggi – Pengerang/Route 92 heading towards Jalan Desaru.
Once you’ve reached the roundabout, follow along the road heading straight towards Jalan Desaru.
